    Reporting Analyst/Senior Analyst

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

She/He will be responsible for the Accounting & Reporting (A&R) of the Alstom Transport Canada Inc, the Reporting Analyst/Senior Analyst will be responsible of the following:  

 

Alstom Transport Canada Inc.

  • Contribute to accurate and timely closure month-end, quarter-end and year-end books  
  • Liaise with shared services and ensure journal entries, third party accruals are booked with supporting documentation; bank and balance sheet account reconciliation are performed on time  
  • Assist Chief Accountant and Site Controller with preparation and presentation of materials for monthly business reviews, budget and forecasts with senior management
  • Partner with Project Controllers and Industrial Controller to prepare and submit budget, forecast and SFTR data in Teranga
  • Assist Site Controller with cash forecasting for external suppliers and employee salary including data input in Teranga
  • Assist in quarterly balance sheet reviews with detailed flux analysis and highlight potential risks and opportunities  
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure consistent with other sites in the region
  • Support the AP SPOC (Single Point of Contact) between Shared Services and local Supply Chain / Souring organization to ensure timely clearance and approval of supplier invoices from Inspire system 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Key User of Concur. Support site employees with questions and troubleshooting of expense reports.

 

 

EDUCATION & OHER REQUIRMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 5 years+ of experience in Finance / Accounting 
  • Holder of a CPA
  • Knowledge of key tools and systems including SAP and Microsoft Office platforms
  • Knowledge of GAAP / IFRS accounting guidelines
  • Able to work independently in a fast paced, matrix organization with a diverse work-team
  • High energy and pro-active.
  • Analytical and critical thinking mindset
  • Team player, sense of urgency, accountability
