Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Alstom is experiencing unprecedented growth in Canada. To meet the challenges of tomorrow's transportation, we are looking for talents ready to combine global expertise with local impact.

We are currently seeking a high‑impact Proposal Lead to drive the development of major, strategic proposals for passenger rail projects across North America.

As a Proposal Lead,  you will lead complex, multimillion‑dollar proposal efforts that directly influence Alstom’s competitive position and long‑term growth.

We are looking for a decisive and strategic leader who can confidently manage the full proposal lifecycle—from RFP release to final submission—while maintaining razor‑sharp quality and a strong command of English to craft and elevate winning narratives.

In this role, you will mobilize and energize large cross‑functional teams, collaborate with technical and commercial experts, and navigate complex requirements to produce compelling, customer‑focused proposals in a rapidly evolving transportation landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and orchestrate the full proposal effort, aligning commercial, technical, and creative contributors around a unified win strategy.
  • Drive all major milestones, including kickoffs, solutioning sessions, and color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold), ensuring engagement, alignment, and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules, track milestones, communicate expectations, and proactively resolve obstacles to keep the proposal effort on track.
  • Define winning strategies, facilitating workshops to shape win themes, value propositions, and competitive differentiators tailored to North American customers.
  • Strengthen proposal narratives, crafting clear, persuasive content and integrating targeted win themes that speak directly to customer priorities.
  • Adapt quickly and stay solutions‑oriented, even under compressed timelines, shifting requirements, or evolving inputs.

About You

  • Strategic & Collaborative: You motivate diverse teams and build alignment around shared goals.
  • Detail‑Focused & Quality‑Driven: You insist on clarity, precision, and polished deliverables.
  • Proactive & Resourceful: You anticipate challenges, take initiative, and continuously improve processes.
  • Agile & Resilient: You thrive under pressure, managing multiple deadlines with composure and confidence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Experience leading large, complex proposals—preferably in transportation, infrastructure, or engineering.
  • Strong project management skills: scheduling, prioritization, and resource coordination.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an excellent command of English.
  • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of proposal development processes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing proposals for North American customers.
  • Knowledge of North American proposal standards and best practices.
  • Experience in business development within consulting, engineering, or transportation sectors.
  • Journalism and/or technical writing experience.
  • Bilingual: French and English.
  • Additional languages are an asset when collaborating with international partners, suppliers, and colleagues.
In Quebec, French remains the principal working language.
