We are looking for a strategic Project Manager- Special Tools & Maintenance to join the Integrated Services Readiness (ISR) team in St-Bruno.

 

 

Your Future role

 

As a Special Tools and Maintenance Project Manager, you lead and coordinate maintenance engineering and special tools activities for rolling stock projects across North America.

 

This role is critical to ensuring that trains are delivered with robust, compliant, and optimized maintenance solutions, fully supported by appropriate special tools, diagnostic equipment.

 

Day-to-Day, you will oversee a team of 4–5 engineers and be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering maintenance and special tools deliverables in alignment with customer technical specifications, contractual requirements, safety standards, and cost objectives.

 

As our ideal candidate, you bring solid expertise in maintenance engineering, design‑for‑maintainability, and special tools and diagnostic equipment, ensuring reliable delivery in complex project environments and are a strong technical and people leader with significant experience managing multidisciplinary teams and budgets, recognized for excellent communication and negotiation skills in English and effective stakeholder engagement.
 

Work location: Saint-Bruno (South Shore of Montréal)

Status : Permanent/full time (40h)

Hybrid : 3 days in office / 2 days remote

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Project Management
  • Lead, coach, and manage a multidisciplinary team of maintenance and special tools engineers
  • Manage a budget exceeding $50M (hours and ODCs)
  • Act as the primary ISR technical interface with customers on maintenance and tooling topics
Maintenance Engineering
  • Lead design‑for‑maintainability activities
  • Manage and support maintainability demonstrations at customer sites
  • Oversee maintenance studies and analyses for rolling stock equipment
Special Tools & Diagnostic Equipment
  • Lead the design, qualification, and commissioning of special tools and diagnostic test equipment
  • Lead the evaluation of supplier technical proposals and manage technical reviews and meetings with suppliers and customers

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Overall background includes several years of experience in technical and people leadership   
  • Overall background includes several years of experience in technical and people leadership 
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Experience in the railway/transportation industry (considered an asset)
  • Proficiency in analyzing and preparing bids and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French are preferred
