 Objective

Manage the portfolio of Projects for the MLX Bi Level Mk7 Overhaul ensuring adherence to process to support execution and performance in line with forecasts.

  • Support tender reviews and robust transfer to Project’s function.
  • Apply the DFQ process as required.
  • Maintain forecast Quality, Cost and Delivery project metrics.
  • Support business development teams to achieve business growth.
  • Directly manage the team of Project Managers and ensure adequate support from the Functions.
  • Manage Customer relationship for contract performance/Change Orders

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Actively participate in the budget preparation and commit on sales, orders, cash and profitability in relation to Project execution.
  • Together with the Business Development team, and under the supervision of the Customer Directors, ensure local promotion of the portfolio (including maintenance and parts contracts).
  • Support bid teams in their tendering activity, and ensure smooth transition in terms of QCD between Tenders and Projects.
  • Ensure proper contract execution; achieve financial targets, meet contractual commitment and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Overall responsibility for managing customer satisfaction for on-going projects as captured in the annual Customer Satisfaction Surveys
  • Negotiate variation orders in line with Alstom policies and partner with customer to ensure both parties meet their contractual obligations.
  • Directly manage the East Coast Project Managers and ensure adequate support from the Functions.
  • Provide guidance to all functions, so that they can anticipate and setup the right footprint, resources, tools & processes.
  • Support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all Project management related corporate processes & tools are implemented correctly.
  • Liaise with PMO as required.
  • Delegate Operations Head as required.

 

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.

 

 Experience

  • 10 years minimum of experience in bids and contract execution in the field of Railway business.

 

Working Conditions

Frequent travel across Canada and/or to the USA. Time out of the office reaching up to 50% on certain periods.
