Could you be the full-time hybrid Product Cost Engineer in Saint-Bruno, QC, CA we’re looking for? 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical cost analysis and engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside proactive and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a key role in evaluating and optimizing the technical cost of components and systems throughout the product development cycle. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing), develop cost models, and promote a cost-conscious culture within the engineering team, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of providing cost breakdowns for components to support sourcing negotiations, but also propose improvements to designs or manufacturing processes to reduce costs.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Applying or developing methodologies to calculate the technical cost of components/systems along the product development cycle

  • Applying or developing cost analysis methods for components/systems

  • Proposing improvements to design or manufacturing processes to reduce technical costs

  • Promoting a cost-conscious culture within the engineering team

  • Providing cost breakdowns of components to the sourcing team for negotiation support

  • Contributing to the improvement of cost analysis practices and methodologies

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering

  • Knowledge of purchasing and/or procurement is an asset

  • Experience in the transportation industry (railway, automotive, etc.) or heavy equipment

  • Fluent in French and English

  • Autonomous, proactive, and possesses technical leadership

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams

Bilingualism

Proficiency in French and English is required. Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
