The Manufacturing Engineering Senior, Engineer liaises between Engineering and Manufacturing to optimize manufacturability of products, throughput times and productivity, leads production of the building of the first vehicle of each type, proving processes and TAKT times and support Engineering in capturing Manufacturing needs - Supports Design for Manufacturing and standardization jointly with the co-support of Engineering. Set up of Best Practices e.g. instructions, concept papers for DFA/DFM, process standardization. Acts as a coach to technicians and engineers and actively shares knowledge.




  • Focusing on best optimization done form the point of view on manufacturability & cost optimization
  • Insure adherence to design for manufacturing ,operations requirements and tolerance management, responsible for design review validation, BB level or car, train level and the PFMEA associated, creation of building blocks as per standard PSN
  • Preparation of all standard product manufacturing documents including, Doc 6 (a/b/c), 16,17, 12, 33, BOM, Work instruction, establishing the change management system
  • Continuous product Improvement actions to optimize the cost & Through put time (TpT)
  • Support procurement on vendor development & localization
  • Bids cost information




  • Ideally holds a degree in Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Typically 5 – 8 years of experience in a relevant role (in carbody, electrical, final assembly).
  • Working experience either in Engineering, Operations or Quality
  • First experience in team leadership
  • Has experience in working in  a multi-cultural environment (e.g. working in international teams)
  • Sound understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and tools, IT-Systems, design documents, CAD, relevant KPI’ s, manufacturing excellence systems,and supply Chain requirements.
  • Understanding of interfacing functions within the value chain.
