Could you be the full-time Mechanical Designer (CAD), Interiors Development Center (CDS) in St-Bruno, Canada we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical design expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and detail-oriented teammates.

You'll play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable transport by contributing to the design and development of interior components and sub-assemblies for our trains. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business (including engineers, external subcontractors, and other CAD designers), ensure the consistency of digital mock-ups, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of creating designs and drawings for train interiors using Catia V5 and DMA, but also optimize designs to meet cost and quality targets.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Creating and refining designs for interior train parts in the digital mock-up, considering factors such as weight, acoustics, eco-design, aerodynamics, and aeraulics

  • Deploying and applying CDS Interior development procedures, catalogues, and standard solutions

  • Optimizing part designs to meet recurring and non-recurring cost targets while adhering to committed timelines

  • Collaborating with external engineering subcontractors and other Interiors CDS CAD designers

  • Ensuring digital mock-up consistency, including checking for interferences, equipment localization, volumes, and interfaces

  • Preparing design review elements with the support of the Lead Engineer

  • Performing stack-up analysis and tolerance calculations

  • Creating and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials for your assigned scopes

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A college degree in mechanical design or qualification as a Mechanical Professional Engineer

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in designing mechanical parts, preferably in railway, automotive, or bus industries

  • Proficiency in CATIA V5

  • Knowledge of DMA

  • Fluency in both French and English

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards roles such as Lead Engineer or other technical or management opportunities

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset to facilitate communication with our partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
