Join us as Fire Protection System Engineer, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St-Bruno (QC), or Kingston (ON), Canada.


Fire Protection System Engineer provides technical input for all aspects of projects, including design and system integration and providing support in order to facilitate the delivery of projects within time and budget and maintain customer satisfaction. The role is fundamental in translating customer requirements/needs into appropriate solutions by providing system engineering expertise across all stages of the project’s lifecycle as an instrumental part of multidisciplinary teams.



  • Integral part of the design team often making mechanical and electrical design recommendations based on experience. Determines the form, fit & function of the design & incorporates cost-effective & manufacturing concepts into the design. Also ensures that designs are completed on time meeting project schedules.
  • Interprets customer specifications to ensure that the design is compliant
  • Understands and uses supplier design & manufacturing data to aid in development of the design
  • Interfaces with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and outside suppliers as needed.
  • Coordinates, tracks, and manages external design and drafting efforts.



  • BSc/MSc degree in Engineering, Mechanical or related subject
  • Member of the OIQ, PE or other enginering professional order in Canada, mandatory
  • Solid understanding of systems life-cycle and corresponding activities
  • Has 3-5 years minimum practical experience with system life-cycle activities either during education or a work placement
  • Experience in the design and integration of fire protection systems (water mist system, detection, etc.)
  • Experience in complex systems failures analysis and solution integration
  • Knowledge of railways industry, an asset
  • Has a solid understanding of the main functions directly interrelated with the system engineered as well as the corresponding influences and interfaces
  • NFPA and/or EN standards knowledge related to this specific field.
  • Knowledge of Rational DOORS software is an asset.
