Pursuing its strategy in matter of Interiors design development, Alstom is now deploying its Interiors Development Center (CDS) for the Americas Region in its St-Bruno, Canada Site, complementing the Sites of Bangalore, India and Valenciennes, France. Each center has its own multidisciplinary Team of Expert Engineers, technicians, buyers, quality, industrial, Project Management, all specialized in Interiors domains. Their mission is to develop the Interiors Products of the future and to execute the projects they are responsible for, from the Tenders and up to the delivery of materials to the assembly line.

JOB PURPOSE
As the Engineering Group Leader of the new Interiors Development Site (CDS), you will be the technical responsible for the Interior CDS scope on the projects you are in charge of and will be responsible to manage a team of Mechanical Lead Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and CAD Designers.
RESPONSABILITIES:
- Manage a team of Mechanical Lead Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and CAD Engineers and is continuously developing them
- Manage the technical relationship with the internal customer
- Manage the project Engineering budget (engineering hours)
- Manage the Engineering development leadtime based on the DFQ Cycle
- Ensure design to cost on technical solutions
- Manage the relationships with the Train Design Engineer and the Project Engineering Manager
- Manage the technical relationship with the suppliers
- Is the technical referential for interiors
- Participate to the improvement of standards processes, methodologies and tools and organise the Return of Experience for continuous improvement
- Support CoE costing to build cost database
- Is the technical referential for projects activities on his/her dedicated scope
- Provide support to the CoE Engineer Manager on transversal activities
- Provide support to sourcing to audit and qualify new panel suppliers
- Manage the assurance of quality of Metier Engineering deliverables
- Check quality status of Engineering deliverables
- Support DR preparation regarding Engineering scope
- Validate quality of Engineering Subcontractor
- Link engineering and manufacturing engineering (design for manufacturing)
- Deploy process/product FMEA : critical characteristics
- Lead validation, fire & smoke and safety activities on his/her scope
- Make sure that Design Reviews are efficiently held
- Check consistency of the Design Review vs Project Risks
- Make sure that DR are well prepared and fuelled GR process
- Follow action plan and update Design Review status
- Manage Engineering Quality issues
- Make sure that problem solving process is properly applied and meet the objectives
- Make sure that Engineering team is included in Customer issues solving process (if needed)
- Propose and follow up action plans for improvement
AS OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE :
- You are a Mechanical Professional Engineer or have a College degree in mechanical engineering
- You have minimum 7-8 years’ experience in Interiors in Railway industry
- You have strong technical knowledge in passenger interiors or cab fitting or front end
- You have experience in project management within Railway industry
- You have strong knowledge of interiors parts costs
- You are able to demonstrate management of engineering teams
- You have ability to prioritize and to work effectively under pressure to meet the deadline.
- You are able to work in an international, multi-site and matrix organization structure.
- You have good written and spoken communication skills.
- You are fluent in French & English
