Your future role

As an EMC Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the electromagnetic compliance of our railway products, from design through to manufacturing. As a true technical reference, you will bring your expertise to diagnose and resolve complex electromagnetic issues across all of our projects.

Location: Saint-Bruno (South Shore of Montreal)
Type: Permanent, full-time (40h)
Work model: Hybrid (3 days on-site / 2 days remote)

Your main responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance Leadership:
Ensure compliance with EMC rules and standards throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial design to manufacturing.

Requirements Engineering & Costing:
Analyze customer specifications during tenders, assess associated costs, and define technical specifications for various subsystems.

Design & Architecture Validation:
Review electrical architecture (high/low voltage wiring, equipment layout) to prevent interference risks at the design stage.

Testing & Validation Management:
Develop test plans, perform laboratory or on-site testing, and validate supplier compliance reports.

Continuous Improvement & R&D:
Optimize internal processes and tools (simulation, design guidelines) and lead research projects to advance the company’s EMC expertise.

Strictly adhere to the established processes, methods, and tools associated with these activities.

About you

Beyond your technical expertise, we are looking for a passionate and committed individual. To thrive in this role and meet our technological challenges, the following qualifications will be essential:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc/MSc), ideally with a specialization in EMC
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), or in the process of becoming one
  • Five or more years of experience in EMC within the automotive, aerospace, defense, railway, or construction sectors
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English
  • Knowledge of railway-specific standards is an asset
  • Willingness to travel occasionally outside the Montreal area (supplier sites and/or client meetings)
