Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in ensuring train-level compliance with mass and balance requirements, which directly impacts performance and safety. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including engineering, braking, traction, energy consumption, railway dynamics, procurement, supplier quality, industrial performance, and validation teams), provide direction to design teams, and support validation processes in collaboration with production and test facilities.
You’ll specifically take care of producing performance simulations at the train level for each maturity gate in the DFQ cycle, but also assess the impact of design gaps to ensure optimal train architecture and safety.
We’ll look to you for:
-
Defining train-level mass and balance requirements
-
Delivering sub-system level mass and position allocations
-
Providing accurate weight KPIs, reports, and diagrams
-
Ensuring quality deliverables that meet "first-time-right" standards
-
Moderating project rituals to review design team weight data
-
Defining and monitoring weight reduction and compliance strategies
