PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Responsible for the application of the Configuration and Change Management process/tools within the Americas Region supporting all sites and projects
  • Supports all sites in Americas to keep the projects / programs under Configuration and Change Management control.
  • Supports the sites in Americas to plan, integrate, develop, drive and monitor the application of the Configuration and Change Management process as described in the Configuration and Change Management internal Procedures. Ensures all involved functions, Métiers, Suppliers and/ or Sub-Systems follow the CCM rules defined and agreed in the Central Configuration Management Process

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Supports the application of Configuration and Change standard procedures, instructions, templates etc. and ensures that projects/sites members do not bypass them.
  • Supports the implementation and drives CCM process within the region or program and supports the CCM Métier in project and site meetings.
  • Supports the creation of the Projects Configuration Management Plans including the Change Management Setup (Change Boards, R&R, interfaces, Accelerated Processes etc.)
  • Supports the Creation of the Configuration Strategy and support the sites to release and control Configuration Baselines and Target Configurations (consistency checking, Baseline Release Notes).
  • Supports the Creation of the Configuration Item List and /or the Target Item List for Configuration Baselines.
  • Supports the Supplier Configuration Management incl. CCM requirement negotiation and requested CCM documentation.
  • Ensures that Configuration data is recorded and documented, monitoring its compliance.
  • Manage the Change Management Process at region level.
  • Supports the sites to Ensure completeness, correctness, clarity and timeline of Change Requests in cooperation with the change requestor from Preparation to Approval to Implementation and Closure.
  • Measures / reports CCM process performance / maturity (Key Performance Indicators) and derivates and manages actions (PDCA).
  • Ensures all functions involved in the Configuration and Change Management process are capable and conducts trainings if not.
  • Ensures the necessary Configuration and Change Management tools are in place including all interfaces (e.g., Partners).
  • Analyses, reviews and maintains CCM related risks and opportunities and ensures Return of Experience on CCM activities.
  • Resolves and escalates any CCM related issues in the region / programs to the Region Development Director or Project / Program Directors and to the Head of CCM
  • Ensures the execution of CCM audits and DfQ Gates for CCM deliverables.

 

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

 

  • University degree in Engineering, Project Management, Administration or equivalent
  • CMII certificate (Desirable)
  • In-depth knowledge of the processes related to configuration management and change management and the links with requirements management, data management and document management in a project context.
  • Experience in business management processes, in project management, risk management, supply chain, engineering and/or industrialization.
  • Work experience in an international environmental organization
  • Oral and written English
  • Knowledge of the processes related to the management of the configuration and changes of the various functions\contributing businesses (Desirable)
  • Leadership skills (Desirable)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in configuration and change management or equivalent (depending on the assignment) (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of railway products, systems and components
  • Knowledge of standard information systems of the digital tool suite (SAP, PLM, Change Tools, etc.)
  • Experience and training according to a recognized standard for Configuration and Change Management
  • Communication skills and abilities and a talent for guiding, influencing and persuading in a framework without direct hierarchy.
  • Understanding of the roles\activities of project management, engineering, production and validation (testing)
  • Systematic, rigorous, proactive and organized approach, ability to work on several subjects at the same time
  • Ability to work in a complex environment
  • Ability to properly identify key issues, opportunities and possible alternatives
  • Proposes ideas for continuous improvement, new approaches on methods, processes and standards in order to achieve or improve the various performance objectives
  • Coordination of a team of professionals, team leaders and\or supervisors working together on different tasks related to the process
  • Team player aiming for a good working environment with his team colleagues.
