Could you be the full-time Carbody Structure Designer in St-Bruno we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your mechanical design expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in the development of the carbody structure for a major project, ensuring design consistency, alignment with best practices, and architectural guidelines. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, industrialization teams, and the project management team, contributing to the creation of innovative rail vehicles. You’ll also play a part in ensuring high-quality designs are delivered within the given time limits.
You’ll specifically take care of designing products aligned with project, platform, and industrialization requirements, but also supporting the CBS MLE (Mechanical Lead Engineer for Carbody Shell) and the Design Leader in planning, coordinating, and tracking design activities and associated deliverables.
We’ll look to you for:

Supporting the CBS MLE and Design Leader in planning and tracking design activities

Designing products aligned with project, platform, and industrialization requirements

Sharing progress on detailed structural designs and space allocations
-
Developing general structural concepts during project execution
-
Ensuring compliance with QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) commitments
-
Guaranteeing product performance, manufacturability, maintainability, and testability
-
Supporting Purchasing, Industrialization, and Production teams during ramp-up
-
Contributing to the continuous improvement of the carbody design domain

Degree in mechanical engineering or technical diploma with relevant experience

Proficiency in mechanical design using Catia V5 or equivalent

Knowledge of welded structures and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong problem-solving skills
-
Fluency in French and English
-
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
