Within the Train System team, the Brakes Supply subsystem Engineer is responsible of the selection of brake components, with the supplier of:

  • Components selection, Calculation and Design conformity to the requirements
  • Brakes Control and status interface with vehicle
  • Validate the mechanical/electrical and software of the sub-system delivered
  • Brakes performance and validation as a sub-system and on vehicle


The projects to support are worldwide. Engineer must be available to travel to the USA or Europe or Asia for client support and production site support once safety travel can be guaranteed.




  • Integral part of the design team often making mechanical, electrical and civil design recommendations based on experience. Determines the form, fit & function of the design & incorporates cost-effective & manufacturing concepts into the design. Also ensures that designs are completed on time meeting project schedules.
  • Interprets customer specifications to ensure that the design is compliant
  • Understands and uses supplier design & manufacturing data to aid in development of the design
  • Interfaces with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and outside suppliers as needed.
  • Coordinates, tracks, and manages external design and drafting efforts. Mentors less experienced engineers, designers, and drafters.




  • BSc degree or MA graduate
  • Typically minimum 2 years of work experience
  • Knowledge of railways industry
