Join us as Bid Manager, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St-Bruno (QC), CA.

 

Lead tender preparation submissions and associated governance, including bid strategies and deliverables. Your role is key role for the organization and our ability to growth the Services Americas business.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform and deliver ALM / O&M tenders
    • Develop solutions that meet Customer requirements at a winning price with healthy executable assumption
    • Deliver winning proposals, with a defined scope, accurate Quality-Cost-Delivery (QCD) commitment in a timely manner and within the defined tender budget.
    • Ensure Alstom margin commitments are realized
    • Deliver high quality deliverable tender submissions
    • Lead and manage tender deliverables of bid core team members
    • Ensure implementation of opportunity capture plans and win strategies in tenders
    • Lead, in conjunction with the Tender Leader or the Customer Director (Sales), the preparation of tenders to come prior to the RFP (request for Proposal) through the coordination of activities leading to the elaboration and approval of the Business Review (BOR)
    • Read and ensure dispatch of all the requirements of RFQ (Request For Qualification) and RFP (Request For Proposal) to the bid core team function. Ensure transfer of the Customer requirements into internal requirement management or compliance matrix and finally in the technical proposal to the Customer.
    • Coordinate and manage Questions / Clarifications / Exceptions to be sent to the Customer;
    • Support Sales and Bid Finance to define the target price and the pricing strategy, as well as the derived costing target per function;
    • Lead costing activities required from all functions, including costing instructions, costing harmonization, risk and mitigation, payment mechanism, ...
    • Challenge costing assumptions and balance competitivity offer with profitable project assumptions.
    • Ensure all bid assumptions, strategies and proposals made in the bid (costing assumptions, gate review document, operation and maintenance plans, …) are documented
    • Lead all bids & proposal activities from issuance of RFQ (request for Qualification) to RFP (Request for Proposal) to the Post-Mortem analysis after the Customer procurement process closure;
    • Lead all governance documents and meetings (Win/No-Go, Tender Gate Review, QCD review, Tender Transfer Meeting);
    • Support the technical, commercial and pricing proposal activities by gather information from many sites, support narratives plan and write-ups.
    • Participate in customer meetings during the different tender phases to ensure the critical and sensitive elements of the bids are well covered;
    • Maintain and uphold the highest confidentiality level for the entire bid exercise.
    • Contribute to the Win/Loss Analysis and action plan follow-up.
  • Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Maintain quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards and recommending processes and tools improvements.
  • Work with internal and external partners to support the system definition in PPP or complex projects, with ensuring Alstom protection. Support partnership and interface agreements if required.
  • Improve performance of a current contract (on an existing site or an operation we want to take over)
  • Identify innovation and alternate proposals to be included in our offers.
  • Identify potential additional business in Services that could led to unsolicited offer.

 

As our ideal candidate:

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, Finance and other related fields or equivalent working experience in this disciple.
  • 5 to 15 years of experience
