The role of the Parts & Component Repair Overhaul (CRO) Cost Manager is to prepare, lead and manage all costing and pricing for make vs buy, business cases, and tender activities. It is a key strategic role for the organization and our ability to grow the Aftermarket Parts & Overhauls North Americas business.
The role will report to the PCRO Aftermarket director and report transversally to the PCRO Finance Project Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead cost estimations for make vs buy and business case activities.
- Build comparisons on different solutions and support Make or Buy evaluations (in coordination with the Finance Project Manager and Project Operation Manager/or Project Industrial Manager)
- Define target cost per activities and/or sub system in coordination with Project/Bid managers, matching with winning price and identified gaps versus Reference Solution
- Lead cost estimation activities based on target cost approach with all participating units and ‘’métiers’’
- Participate in the control the costing assumptions in real time (consistency between scope of work, costing received and planning)

- Calculate Return on Investment and perform cost/revenue analysis to support business case.
- Lead transversal cost reduction activities of our Component Repairs and Overhaul activities, with the support of the related function.
- Collect and monitor cost reduction initiatives with the support of the related Métiers: ideas collection, preliminary studies, action plan follow-up, risk & savings register update
- Coordinate costing analysis during design phase with the support of the related stakeholders, for the activities impacting several Métiers (ex: budget versus savings analysis)
- Secure the implementation of the savings action plan
- Prepare, lead and manage costing and pricing aspects of a tender
- Prepare quick costing during pre-tendering phase, based on product cost database and return of experience from project execution.
- Support the Bid manager in the preparation of the IFQ (Instruction For Quotation), in accordance with customer requirements, terms and conditions, Alstom financial rules, pricing strategy.
- Lead cost improvement actions to reach tender cost /target price using all competitiveness levers, and challenge the contributors.
- Lead a collaborative work with Finance Tender Manager to optimize Financial costs (bonds, financing, hedging, insurance, taxes, etc), and to improve overall competitiveness of the bid
- Prepare the Costing package for internal governance.
- Lead cost estimation activities during negotiation phase and update the cost commitment.
- Transfer tender costing data (with related assumptions) to Project + variance analysis.
- Prepare, lead and manage the cost estimations for VO (Variation Order) and NAVO (Non-Agreed Variation Order) within the Project team, with the support of the Finance Project Manager.
- Validate, with the Project Contract Manager, any outstanding commercial obligations that will have an impact on the tender.

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or administration
- Member of the CPA is an asset
- 5 years of experience in finance project management and business case analysis
- Strong analytical, process improvement and organizational skills
- Results and data driven and ability to deliver on-time
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- SAP knowledge is an asset.
