About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. The Warranty Engineer is responsible to perform the following : -

  • Upkeeping failure report, up to date and using soft tools effectively
  • Strengthening processes for site level operations for Warranty management in regard to actual work environment when loco will be on operation in mainline
  • Efficient and smooth warranty management
  • Ensure contribution to fleet availability according to contractual commitments during warranty phase
  • Material Consumption tracking and acurate prediction of spares, consignment stock and paid spares in time.
  • Reliability growth issues tracking and follow up with internal stakeholder and suppliers for on time closure
  • Take lead on RCA, Governance and Corrective actions from Supplier
  • Execution of repairloop for the parts which are under warranty
  • Ensure contribution to Reliability Growth and Return of Experience
  • Efficient and fast Epidemic failure management with closure of open issues/failures
  • Reliabilty growth issues fleet retrofitment tracking and on time closure
  • Monitoring critical supplier performance and sharing feedback to SQA and Sourcing for warranty extension 
  • Guarantee the application of EHS rules and WI processes


  • Provide up-to-date data/ information to internal and external customers
  • 8-D creation on time for all K3 & K4 issues
  • Ensure on time NCR creation for warranty issues
  • Ensure on-time troubleshooting at mainline/ PRT location to maintain fleet availability according to contractual commitments
  • Timely Creation of sub con PR for failed parts
  • Ensure contribution to fleet availability according to contractual commitments
  • Monitoring of Loco configuration for the serialized parts
  • Suppliers Governance, Warranty Implementation and secure Repair Loop
  • Management of ERP data for Warranty Tracking
  • Contribute to WI image and skills acknowledgement
  • Organize and optimize warranty spares repair loop incl. Intervention reports
  • Contribute to claims and negotiations with external supplier (regarding warranty)
  • Ensure compliance to standard processes (ISO, EHS)
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

    Qualifications & Skills:
  • B Tech in Electrical/Electronics or equivalent



  • Good communication, report writing and organisational skills
  • IT skills – competent user of Personal Computer, including office packages, SAP, Planning tools as MS Project, PMS...

  • Min 7 years of experience in Railway Environment in loco/coaches/trains/metros related product maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting and warranty operations
