Purpose of the job:

  • To work with the Solution and Product Teams to manage the long term sustaining of  Train Control & Information Systems (TC&IS) solutions and products. 
  • To support the services organisation in developing innovative offerings for on-board electronic solutions;



Key accountabilities:


  • Develop the Train Control & Information Systems offerings that support the growth of the services business.

    • through Technology Refresh
    • through Technology Upgrade
    • through additional, Innovative features and services
  • Support the business development activities of the service business’ through
    • Spares, including long-term sustaining strategies
    • Rolling Stock Modernisation.
  • Validate all notifications for change of Lifecycle Status
  • Develop and Validate Business Case for technology refresh and upgrade and associated budget requests.
  • Manage periodic review meetings with solution teams, product management teams, services & component service centers for TC&IS Solutions. 


  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.





  • Knowledge of rail vehicles & sub-systems
  • Knowledge of rolling stock life cycle and services.
  • English (Fluent)



  • Key knowledge areas: Design to Cost methodologies and tools – is this mandatory
  • Knowledge of electronic system design and industrialisation, preferably in rail or similar
  • 5 years’ experience in technical role in rail or similar industry
  • Additional language French, German, Italian or Spanish
  • Technology watch & obsolescence management
  • Key knowledge areas: internal processes, costing, finance, tenders
