Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

•Translate customer needs into achievable product performance requirements

•Develop the product architecture of trackside equipment (switch machines, switch circuit controllers, relays, etc.)

•Ensure technical consistency and alignment with other métiers throughout a development

•Provide technical support to Customer Care and Tender teams

•Apply Alstom standard processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

•Design conceptual models of products using CAD software

•Accountability for Software Schedule Tracking, Oversight and Reporting


Essential Skills and Experience (Essential Functions)

Experience in the following:

•10+ years of experience in the design and development of software modules / applications using C and C++

•Software development in a Linux environment

•Experience working in an agile development environment

•Leading a software development team

•Development of software specifications (nominal and degraded modes, function, performance, RAMS, etc.)

•Excellent verbal and written communication

•Excellent organizational and configuration management

•Ability to generate, read, and interpret user requirements



•Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Access


Desired Skills and Experience (Essential Functions)

•5+ years of experience designing and using relational database (Oracle experience preferable)

•7+ years of experience in railroad / transit signaling market (preferable)

•Experience with integration of control room / automation software (preferable)

•Experience with SOAP (preferable)

•Software development in a Windows environment (desirable)

•System Architecture (SysML) (preferable)

•Reverse engineering (desirable)•Embedded systems (desirable)

•Railway software development desired.


Education Requirements

•Bachelor of Engineering Degree or Master’s degree
