As shipping receiving assistant, it is your responsibility to ensure that all material that passes through your department is in the proper condition, with the correct paperwork and information. You are to perform your duties in an expeditious and professional matter and that your work meets Alstom’s quality standards. You need to blend the needs of the company while meeting the requirements of its customers.



  • Assure that the facility and equipment used in shipping/receiving is always in proper operating condition. Monitor your work to meet quality standards, process, and delivery schedules.
  • Review with your Supervisor company quality standards for shipping & receiving and monitor the system to see that they are followed.
  • Schedule all work daily, meeting the requirements of the individuals involved.
  • Monitor weekly scheduled hours based on current workload & schedule requirements, review with the Supervisor and adjust to meet workloads
  • Follow directions as given by the Logistics Supervisor.
  • Deliver incoming material the proper personal or area within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Perform all receiving inspections & distribute paperwork as required to the proper personnel
  • Provide proper packaging for all outgoing shipments, generate & complete all paperwork for each shipment as required by Alstom procedures and policies
  • At all times maintain a clean, neat, safe work area. Maintain inventory & order supplies in a timely fashion.
  • Load / unload trucks as required
  • Remove cardboard & skids from shop daily
  • Locate, deliver, and return fixtures from the storage area to the CNC area as required
  • Follow all company policies, safety and otherwise as set forth in the employee manual
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or equivalent
    Clean NYS Driver’s License
  • Basic Microsoft office experience
  • Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
    Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
    Ability to transfer up to 100 pounds with help of another person


  • Strong, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to learn and utilize Epicor ERP System.
  • Must be able to handle multitasks efficiently
