Rate of Pay:     $108,826/year to $134,810.50/year

 

Duties: Manage program and define the roadmap for Positive Train Control (PTC) railway systems. Facilitate the execution of program operations for quality and costs, development lead-time, and system product performances. Oversee daily functioning of projects and facilitate quality improvement and risk management in conjunction with regulations and company policies. Review and update workload of the program and communicate it to the finance controller and Metier. Propose system and product specifications to ensure safety and quality, application competitiveness, customer orientation, and innovation. Manage, control, and execute all developments including performances, planning, gate reviews, delivery, cost, risks, and savings in compliance with the approved QCD commitments. Ensure programs are deployable to project teams using a comprehensive and efficient deployment kit including: standard tools, procedures, training material, and documentation. Manage R&D Programs to prepare and present Program Reviews, Program Review Board Meetings, Development Center Reviews, Program/Product Approval Board meetings, and Design Review meetings. Coordinate industrialization, sourcing, and finance work with other entities. Manage Metier resources allocated to the program, provide leadership, and ensure duties are fulfilled by program teams efficiently including Projects technical support. Lead weekly reviews of scope, progress, difficulties, budget, mitigation, and weekly Change Control Board to review the scope of the deliveries and baseline. Perform Work Package review of all project execution finances. Manage retrofit deployment schedules, and establish estimation and commitment sheet when new baseline/features are required.

 

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Microelectronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation in the railway industry. Position requires experience with:

1.    Technical experience in train signaling product development: SW design, HW design, or systems design;

2.    Managing program level KPIs such as input on time, delivery on time, defect reporting, and DFQ/gated design;

3.    Establishing and maintaining engineering development risk and savings registers;

4.    Quality/Cost/Delivery ownership for large engineering development programs;

5.    Experience using DOORS, RTC, Jira, GIT, Reqtify, MS Project, Rational ClearQuest;

6.    Experience in process ownership/process deployment across region;

7.    Conducting software/code reviews and quality reviews; and

8.    Managing external Independent Safety Assessor to ensure proper compliance to safety principles.
