Role Summary/Purpose: The Switch Machine and Signals Product Manager leads Alstom’s Switch Machine and Signals product line. Position is responsible for the completeness of the product in terms of features, functionality, price, and quality.


Essential Responsibilities:

 Product Line Leadership

  • Responsibility for the overall profitability and long-term viability of the Alstom North America Switch Machine and Signals product line.
  • Leading the planning and prioritization of product features in cooperation with Commercial Marketing, Sales organizations, and Engineering
  • Creating and maintaining the Product Marketing Plan
  • Creating and maintaining the Product development business case and revenue projections
  • Creating and maintaining product roadmaps
  • Collecting, analyzing and specifying customer needs and requirements
  • Developing the product concept proposals for new development programs and releases
  • Producing the appropriate content for demos, manuals, marketing material, etc.
  • Creating and maintaining product support and sustaining engineering plans
  • Cross functional coordination between engineering, operations, project, and service teams
  • Agile/Scrum experience and technical knowledge in software development methodologies
  • Evaluation and prioritization of functions based on market assessment and customer feedback

 Sales Support

  • Providing consultation & support for internal and external key-customers (solution proposals, feasibility studies, lockout specs, tender responses, etc.)
  • Supporting tradeshows and demonstration presentations
  • Providing internal product training
  • Competitiveness
  • Continuously seeking ways to optimize the benefits and cost of the product offerings
  • Analyzing competitive offerings and available technologies in the railroad switch machine and wayside signals market
