Purpose of the Job

To fulfill an ICC (Integrated Control Center) TMS Software Developer mandate within the context of different ICC-TMS Projects which typically deliver one ICC System consisting of at least one ICONIS/TMS Product and at least one of the following subsystems: SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), ATS (Automated Train Supervision) and MSM (Maintenance and Security Management).  

 

The role of the ICC-TMS Software Designer is to ensure with the ICC-TMS team that software implementation meet the customer’s needs and expectations (within the context of the contract) while minimizing the product gaps.

 

Context:

The ICC-TMS software developer will be involved from the beginning to the end of Alstom’s development V-cycle, more precisely during the software specification, architecture, implementation, integration and validation phases of ICC-TMS Projects.

 

Objectives:

To ensure consistency and quality of the software implementation across the ICC-TMS projects.

To be a key member o the Agile team that:

  • owns the TMS software (architecture, implementation…) and support the changes that needs to be done on the product (from small fixes to complex variation orders).
  • Owns the TMS projects architecture, implementation…)  and support the changes that needs to be done (from small fixes to complex variation orders).

 

Business Understanding

Railroad industry knowledge, ATS, SCADA, Management System, Control Center

 

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Automation, or equivalent

 

Behavioural and Technical  Skills / Competencies

2-years (or +) experience in Railway industry or with large Control Center Systems (Energy, Pipeline and similar) and their typical integration challenges

5-years (or +) experience in Software development (Software Requirements, Software Architecture, Software Integration, Software Validation):

  • Experience with development of complex applications in C/C++ for Linux Operating System (Red Hat distribution is a plus)
  • Proficient with Configuration management tool (git, SVN)
  • Good understand of data base principles (MS SQL, Oracle) and associated reporting tools (Jasper is a plus)
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Knowledge of CyberSecurity principles

 

Exposure to at least one ICONIS Product (ATS CF, ATS CT, S2K-AGUI, S2K-UHMI) is an asset

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, as well as excellent presentation skills

 

Job Location

Rochester (NY) USA.

Occasional travels, in Canada/US, to assist at different integration and field-testing activities and partake to customer meetings
