The main objective of the Engineering Tools Leader is to drive QCDP improvements in our P&T business by collaborating with global teams to migrate existing Tools and Processes to NAM. The Tools Leader will also actively engage with NAM engineering teams and other stakeholders to identify and justify needs for Tools development. The Tools Leader role is instrumental to increase our tender competitiveness and project delivery performance.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Deploy Automation Tools and Simulators to reduce repetitive tasks, rework, and the level of expertise needed in the project engineering organization while increasing the quality and consistency of NAM engineering deliverables
  • Represent NAM in the Global Tools, Automation and Simulators organization
  • Define, maintain, and implement a Tools Roadmap for NAM based on market and user need
  • Establish relationships with the NAM engineering, sales, and tenders to capture user needs
  • Capture R&D investment funding by justifying ROI via business cases and then subsequently manage the funded programs to meet their QCDP commitments
  • Meet Tools QCDP commitments during project execution
  • Design, build and maintain new Tools while migrating, customizing, and consolidating global Tools and Processes
  • Manage and maintain entire NAM Tools portfolio under configuration control including full set of documentation, updates, and validation certifications
  • Support and train engineering teams on Tools configuration and application
  • Build Automation strategies with the Engineering Directors

 

Requirements - Mandatory

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
  • Experience managing direct reports, leading by influence, and managing virtual teams
  • Experience with Signaling products, processes, and automation Tools
  • Work Package Management experience with QCDP targets
  • Ability to understand and capture user needs and present solutions to internal stakeholders
  • Ability to drive and report project/program progress to management
  • Experience managing requirements and change
  • Ability to write technical specifications

 

Requirements - Preferred

  • MBA or Business Development experience
  • Ability to influence and drive cultural change in an organization
  • Experience managing multiple programs/projects simultaneous
  • Experience with Alstom Signaling products, processes, and automation Tools
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex problems requiring innovation and creativity
  • Experience using DOORS and ClearQuest
