Purpose of the Job


Manage Development Center Safety Assurance resources (SAMs and SAEs) and is accountable for general Safety Management activities associated with all Signaling Products at the Rochester site.


Signaling Product solutions are composed of Electronics, Software, and Electro-mechanical design that utilize technical safety concepts such as vital fail-safe design, and inherently safe design



  • Manage the workload of Safety Resources and allocate the resources in accordance to DC Director and  manage/approve QCD commitments for Bids to Projects and S&P Development
  • Manage and lead the team in Project and Program Safety Planning.
  • Develop and Maintain Safety Resources Skills
  • Deploy Safety Process, Method and Tools in accordance to Central rules and propose improvements based on REX (Return on Experience)
  • Support the Safety Process Correspondent
  • Ensure convergence between System/Products and System/Projects for safety-related topics; escalation and arbitration will  be managed between ADM Safety Director and/or ADM Platform Safety Director
  • Provide Technical Expertise to Projects for  System & Products Cross-Acceptance to assure

Customer Safety Acceptance

  • Review safety issues and support root cause identification and mitigation measures
  • Implement the Safety Management Cycle defined centrally by ADM Safety Director Staffing: Total Capacity versus Workload. Analysis and action plan
  • Provide Quarterly Dashboard in accordance to Central rules, and provide weekly status reports.

Review/validate key Safety Analysis in their Domain. Perform Validation of the following Safety Outputs produced and verified by SAM/SAEs.



Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Engineering, Electrical, Electronic or Software



  • A proven background in Product Development or System Design microprocessor based system for highly regulated industry (Rail, Defense, Nuclear or Space…)
  • Self-starter able to work independently with a sense of urgency and network effectively to gather data from different sources.
