Project: Riyadh Metro Line 2 Extension, KSA

Purpose of the job: To define and manage all the interfaces between Electro Mechanical (E&M) Subsystems (Legacy Rolling Stock, Signalling, SCADA, Platform Screen Doors, Telecommunications, Passenger Information, CCTV, Power Supply, AFC, TVS, MEP...) , either within Alstom contract or with other contractors or partners. Specific focus is to be given to the interfaces between Alstom scope and Siemens Mobility scope (as our subcontractor for RL2E).

Organization:

  • Reports to: the Turnkey System Project Engineering Manager (PrEM).
  • Direct report under this position: E&M Interface Engineer.
  • Internal network: Project team, Construction manager, Subsystem’s engineering managers and installation managers.
  • External network: Customer, Consortium Partners, Subcontractors, Consultants.

Main responsibilities:

  • Define the System Interface management process: interface identification, interface matrix, interface register.
  • Define the Interface Documentation (ICD, IS) by pairs of Subsystems and lead their coordination as per production by the subsystems (leader & contributor).
  • Ensure the consistency of the interfaces in accordance with the contract and the system needs. 
  • Manage the detailed interfaces definition and make them agreed by all the stockholders and if required approved by the client.
  • Review the subsystems design documentation to make sure they are aligned with the agreed interfaces.
  • Support the interface testing to make sure it is aligned with the interface documentation.

Main required compentencies:

  • Master University Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Field experience and a good knowledge of railway systems, especially Signaling and available E&M equipment / subsystems.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions in railway projects.
  • A good level of English and contract Language.
  • A good working relationship and ability to negotiate with the subsystems.
