Junior Project Manager m/f

 

Purpose of the job:

Support Qualified Project Manager to drive the execution of project, according to contractual requirements and customer expectations.

The role goal is to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with Alstom project management and execution processes as a Prime contact to Customer and Project Stakeholders.

 

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:  

Lead and coordinate project activities and stakeholders from transfer to close-out including:

  • Manage, lead and instruct the Project Core Team in the day-to-day activities within schedule, allocated budgets and scope to the required quality;
  • Definition of project objectives and main drivers (product/service performance, planning) to achieve customer satisfaction in the frame of the contract
  • Management of the project progress and its KPIs, and reports to senior management, with transparency during the business/critical project reviews.
  • Assisting claim/contract manager by providing and gathering information about project schedule, milestones, delivery dates and costs;
  • Team leading (make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project goals, engage project teams in the successful achievement)
  • Resources management: notifying Program Manager in case of delays, customer problems, extra spending, margin slippage, etc.;
  • Creating invoicing plan, initiating customer invoicing, follow up of invoice payment that often involves customer contact; controlling the procurement process according to the contract; follow up of project hours, work package control (MS Project, Primavera),
  • Change Management and Contractual Obligation Management: Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management
  • Writing official letters (with support from Legal) to customers and partners;
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual

 

Candidate’s profile:

  • Higher education
  • Min. of 1 year experience as manager of an operational scope or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Project management processes
  • Good communication, negotiation and coordination skills
  • Team management (capacity to coordinate/ ensure collaboration of multi-site/multi-metier teams)
  • Result oriented
  • Awareness of railway products and systems
  • Language skills in Latvian, English and Russian
  • Tools: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures
  • IPMA level D (or equivalent)
