At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
Alstom is responsible for the newest train for the Dutch Railways (NS): the ICNG. Did you know that this is essentially a mobile computer? Thanks to you, these trains will be able to run smoothly in the future! Do you want to play a major role in this exciting challenge?
You will join a team in Utrecht that works on the acceptance of the ICNG train OR a team in Amsterdam that is responsible for the warranty period. Before a train is delivered, it is extensively tested in Utrecht. Even though it's a new train, there are always points that need adjustment or components that still need to be replaced. We also don't stand still during the warranty period, as there are still many adjustments to be made. Trains will be delivered on a large scale in the coming period, so we have room for new "super mechanics."
Your role
Together with your team and others (for example, the software engineering team and Quality), you will ensure that every train is delivered correctly or can return to the track without any problems.
You will:
• Find and resolve faults on the train.
• Work with various components, many of which have their own software applications.
• Prepare for delivery, taking responsibility and working independently.
About you:
You are a hands-on person with a strong technical background. You have extensive experience as a troubleshooting technician and are able to quickly master software applications. You are knowledgeable about electronics and can easily read electrical diagrams.
You can:
• Identify faults in electronics, hardware, and software.
• Work with technical documentation and follow up on it.
• Work closely with colleagues and other teams to find the best solutions.
• Adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
• Communicate well.
What do we offer you?
• Salary based on experience (between €50,500 and €67,300 gross per year).
• Opportunities for advancement within Alstom.
• A shift allowance is available depending on your schedule. A 40-hour workweek with flexible hours in the future.
• High-quality tools and workwear.
• A company car.
• The opportunity to make a significant impact on society.
