Our team

Our divers, international team consisting of 10 Buyers is divided between the locations Ridderkerk, Rotterdam, Brugge and Charleroi. We will expand our team to 13 Buyers and we are reporting to Davinia Prins - Bijkerk (Procurement Manager Services Benelux). We are part of the Alstom Benelux Services and have 3 focus categories:

1. Rolling stock maintenance contracts

2. Projects to overhaul sub systems and trains, trams and subway to expand their lifetime up to 20 years.

3. Delivery of spare parts to our customers

Some examples of our customers are: RET, GVB, NS and DB.


Your challenge as (Junior) Buyer

Within the Parts & Repairs activity, you are responsible for the spare parts procurement, in alignment with the group and local supplier panels. You ensure, through professional purchasing practices, the availability of spare parts at the right total cost and in good quality. Furthermore, you will assist Senior Buyers with some administrative tasks. Your day starts with setting the priorities and check new parts requests. You will source to needed product, follow up existing requests and take care of the related administration. Of course, during the day priorities change and you will adapt where needed. Furthermore, you will be in contact with your stakeholders to keep them posted on the progress.


Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage spare parts quotations for spot and frame agreement businesses with focus on
      • Respect of time to quote KPI
      • Costs
      • Quality
  • Keep close interaction with the internal stakeholders on any risks, issues or opportunities
  • Manage the supplier relation to a “best in class” level.
  • Negotiate to secure savings
  • Manage initial issues before escalation to line manager
  • Participate actively to commodity strategy and panel elaboration
  • Ensure effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
  • Be pro-active in outsourcing possibilities
