Trouble shooter new train ICNG

Taking part in the New Generation Intercity

Do you want to be part of the future? For our team supporting the Dutch Railways (NS) in the implementation of the ICNG - the Intercity New Generation - we are looking for someone with all-round knowledge of mechatronics. We realise that you cannot be a specialist in everything and we offer you the opportunity to develop yourself further with us. Interested yet? Read on!

In the coming years, you will see more and more new trains in the Netherlands. We are looking for professionals who, like us, find quality very important and who can help make the further commissioning of this train as smooth as possible. The ICNG is subject to high requirements in terms of reliability, energy consumption, safety and comfort. We at Alstom are very proud of this product.

What do we offer you?
- a 36-hour working week
- a schedule in which you work 6 days (alternating day, evening and night shifts), followed by 4 days off as standard
- a lease car
- you will be based in Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer and you will be driving around a lot in the Netherlands (because the train does not stand still)
- a professional and varied job!
- an average shift allowance of 32.5 percent on top of your salary per 10 weeks
- a salary of around 3200 - 4200 euro gross (depending on experience)
- CLA Metalelektro with this position 27 days off per year
- you will be directly employed by Alstom

Who are you?

You are a real tech nerd and if there is a problem, you go straight for it. You understand what you can and cannot do, where your strengths are and where you can still develop. You have a good basic understanding of how a train is put together (or similar mechanics and we will teach you the rest). A train consists of different components. These components come from all over the world and the train is assembled in Poland. The train then comes to the Netherlands. After a few test runs, the train goes onto the track. In order to solve a breakdown, it is important that you have a good understanding of how everything works. You can quickly find what you need in documentation and you can easily read diagrams and drawings. You really like to get to work and you like to take a lot of responsibility.

When you arrive at the train, your first thought is "how are we going to deal with this breakdown?". Do you recognise yourself? Apply!

- you have completed studies in the direction of automotive, aeronautical engineering, mechatronics or related subjects
- sometimes a breakdown may not be finished within your working hours - you make sure it is solved anyway
- you like working in different places
- You can work well with others

What will you do?
The ICNG integrates the latest technologies. You will be a specialist on this train. You understand how all the components fit together. It is not necessary that you become a specialist on every component, but you are able to point out where a fault is and identify what is needed and you will get very far on your own. You get the chance to specialise further on a specific component. An important role for the Alstom team is to support NS during commissioning, breakdowns and the train's 2-year warranty. So you will often work with NS staff. Our team is still relatively new, which means you can also play a role in improving work processes. Fun, right?

A morning shift starts at half past six. You might start first in Watergraafsmeer, but you might also have to go straight to a stranded train. A morning shift lasts until 3pm. An evening shift is from 15.00 - 22.00. And night shifts last from 22.00 - 6.30.
