Your future role
As the Local Chief Accountant, you will take on an important role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational excellence of our organisation. You will report directly to the Country Finance Director and work alongside strategic and analytical teammates to drive financial performance within the business. You will oversee monthly management information and monitor controls, ensuring timely reporting that aligns with the overall business goals. Your focus will be on optimizing working capital, inventory management, and accounts payable.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Implement forward-looking forecasting to assist management in making informed decisions and optimize financial performance. Collaborate effectively across finance and business teams to strengthen our value proposition
- Monitoring and forecasting cash flows, ensuring robust control and process management over cash management to avoid overdue payments and disruptions in projects.
- Actively reaching out and staying connected to business needs, translating analytical insights into impactful business outcomes.
- Leading interventions to improve operational efficiencies, particularly in cost management, working capital including inventory management.
- Supporting country Finance Director in assurance processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and enhancing internal controls.
All about you
At Alstom, we value passion and engagement. To thrive in this role, we seek candidates with the following qualifications:
- A degree in accounting or finance with relevant professional certification and at least 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and a good understanding of inventory, working capital, and accounts payable management.
- Excellent analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for the business.
- Experience in project controlling is an asset, alongside a willingness to navigate across various cultures and ways of working within our organisation.
- A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively within a diverse team and adapt to changing circumstances; willingness to navigate across various cultures and ways of working across a global organisation.
