Purpose of the job

 

Perform System Integration as well as Create, Execute, Analyze and Document System Tests for complete Track Circuit and Telemetry Systems in a Laboratory Environment.

 

  • The type of testing includes, but is not limited to: Integration Testing, Functional Testing, Non-functional Testing, Boundary Testing, Error-handling Testing,
  • Performance Testing, Scenario-based Testing and Validation Testing. Furthermore, the task will be to re-create scenarios from the field operating environment with the ability to analyze logs and interpret complex system behaviour is valuable for this position.
  • A certain amount of work in the field could be required as part of the role, therefore travelling to domestic and foreign work sites and work outside regular office hours could be requested. 
  • Keen interest in the discipline of test and verification Understanding of requirements for the creation and execution of Integration Test Cases and System Test Cases.
  • The jobholder will be multi-skilled and required to work as part of the Systems Integration and Test Team.
  • The position entails documenting test procedures and test script in test specifications, executing the tests, fault finding and analysis. Since Test Specifications, Test Records and Test Reports are documented in English, good English skills are required

 

Establish strict and efficient collaboration with Hardware and Software Engineer.

 

Main responsibilities

 

  • Test planning
  • Verification testing
  • Analyse Safety and Functional Compliance
  • Document activities to a standard in line with SIL4 product
  • Debug/Fault Find new and existing systems
  • Performance measurements:
  • Actual vs planned number of development runs
  • On-Time Delivery
  • Number of non-detected issue, detected after end of component verification

 

Educational requirements

 

  • HNC in Electronics Engineering or other relevant disciplines
  • BSc in Electronics Engineering or other relevant disciplines – desirable

 

Experience

 

  • Proven electronic lab experience: Debugging HW and SW faults & Writing technical reports
  • Experience in railways industry or in industry with similar requirements (aeronautics, automotive, military) - desirable
  • Vital hardware development – desirable

 

Competencies & Skills

 

  • Good literacy in IT and with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of UNIX system will be beneficial.
  • Understanding of CAD including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Extensive experience in handling and troubleshooting PCBa
  • Great confidence in analysis of electronic schematics and layouts.
  • Knowledge of computer programming (mainly C), and capability to debug code.
  • Good written English communication skills
  • Ability to work with other engineering teams
