Could you be the full-time onsite Special Process Expert in Plattsburgh, NY, US we’re looking for?

 

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your advanced welding and industrial engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates. You'll play a key role in coordinating the industrial control of Special Processes (SP) throughout various stages, from tender phase to manufacturing, ensuring high-quality standards and optimizing costs. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, and Supply Chain), manage industrial risks through Process FMEA, support technology transfers, and much more.

 

We’ll look to you for:

  • You’ll specifically take care of coordinating the industrial control of Special Processes (SP) during tender phases, product development, industrialization, manufacturing, warranty, and maintenance, but also supporting technology and activity transfers,

  • Contributing to the tender phase by addressing industrial constraints and requirements to optimize costs and minimize risks,

  • Supporting Concurrent Engineering by contributing to technical solution decisions during specification and design phases,

  • Building the SP REX (Return of Experience) and interacting with product engineering to adjust designs as needed,

  • Managing industrial risks through Process FMEA and implementing associated improvement action plans,

  • Defining requirements and rules (Design for Manufacturing) for tooling necessary to start production,

  • Qualifying the product/process pair and the industrial means in alignment with the design.


All about you

  • Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering; welding-specific degree preferred,

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience,
  • Experience or understanding of design and manufacturing project cycles,

  • Knowledge of welding processes and techniques (certified or demonstrable advanced welding skills),

  • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or CWE/IWE (Certified Welding Educator / International Welding Engineer) certifications are strong pluses,

  • Familiarity with Process FMEA and quality control processes,

  • Presentation and teaching skills, with the ability to train and mentor others,

  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities,

  • Expertise in industrial risk management and implementing improvement action plans,

  • Commitment to ethics, compliance, and EHS standards.

Pay Transparency Statement (New York State):
In accordance with New York State law, the anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $105,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, and qualifications. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation.
