Role Summary:

The Project V&V Designer Intern will work with the V&V Test team, ensuring quality targets and repeatable test performance. This role will support different innovation programs including V&V automation deployment, lab hardware enhancements, and overall delivery synergy/efficiency. The Project V&V Designer Intern will also perform system validation to support QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) commitments and identify best V&V practices and standardize their implementation across the projects. The Project V&V Designer Intern will work with the V&V Team and participate in continuous team improvement, assessment of team competencies, and participate in the team training plan. This is a full-time Summer 2026 Internship Role in Pittsburgh, PA. 
 

Key Accountabilities:

-Support automation test script development and deployment using Robot Framework (python) that support pre-defined test case documents
-Integrate new hardware in our factory labs to better emulate the production Wayside and Onboard environment
-Contribute to the enhancement of test case documentation to support both automated, hardware and manual testing
-Perform and report on allocated validation activities
-Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of test progress, issues, risks and opportunities
-Provide data to maintain applicable KPIs and provide valuable feedback for continuous improvement.
-Manage configuration and change management cycle related with V&V activities

 

Required Profile:

Enrolled in a 4-year program and have completed at least 2 years of a major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field(s).
 

Preferred Experience:

-Experience with V&V is helpful, but not required.
-Experience with Python
-Experience with hardware integration
