As a Senior Civil/Transportation Engineer, you will work with closely with other engineers (multi-disciplinary), project teams, suppliers, consultants, contractors, and others to develop detailed system alignments for cutting edge mass transit systems throughout the world. In addition, you will design and scope effective interfaces and design criteria for wayside transit systems and sub-systems that comprise world class Transit Systems for Proposals, Projects and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) applications.
Your responsibilities will include:

Developing detailed system alignments for rubber tired people-movers and monorails as well as steel wheel metros, light rail and trains including horizontal alignments with crossovers, switches, spiral and curved geometry, vertical alignments and graphically graded crossings. Developing templates and sections for use in vehicle clearance envelope design of several mass transit technologies. Currently using at or the ability to obtain “expert” level with Bentley OpenRail/OpenRoads and Microstation software.

Participate/assist with preparing system level and detailed alignment design reviews and work closely with the Systems engineering group to develope optimized system alignments and simulations.
- Work within the Civil/Wayside engineering team and proposal/project teams to prepare bids, proposals, design drawings, design specifications and design criteria for system alignments and vehicle clearance envelopes.
- Prepare scope, drawings and details, design calculations, reference material such that baseline alignment designs and vehicle clearance envelopes are established and maintained.
- Ability to work effectively/prioritize tasks on multiple projects and proposals concurrently while respecting allocated budgets and defined schedules.
- Establish working relationships and interface with client, client’s staff and their technical representatives and with internal and external engineers, project engineers, construction teams and project managers.
- Assist with inspection, testing and installation activities at project installation sites.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highway, bridge or rail construction field experience considered a strong asset. Self-motivated, ability to work independently or within a team environment with integrated, cross-functional teams and able to adapt well to changes and shifting priorities within a project milestone environment.
- Travel up to 10% domestically and/or internationally
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience (Highway, Rail, Bridge). Previous experience within transit industry is preferred.
- Experience utilizing Bentley suite of engineering products (OpenRail, OpenRoads, Microstation).
- PE or ability to obtain one is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Construction installation experience.
- AutoCAD experience
