As an APM Fleet Support Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions to agreed timescales, within budget & to an acceptable quality standard. Your role will be to develop, validate, and prepare modifications and maintenance changes to NAM SER supported APM fleets that are in commercial service or in start-up phase of the project. Your primary purpose will be to develop engineering solutions and engineering change documentation in support of in-service fleets, predominantly focused on Safety, Reliability, and System / Vehicle enhancements of the on-board and wayside Signaling and related systems for Automated People Movers (APM). This work will encompass a few domains including; mechanical and electromechanical equipment, electrical wiring and cabling, high and low power distribution, electrical, electronic and software subsystems integration. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Partnering with authority engineers and specialists to ensure compliance with appropriate Industry Standards
  • Collaborating with other engineering functions to ensure a fully integrated, safe & compliant design
  • Providing technical support and solutions to the APM Operations and Maintenance sites, Production Line, Procurement, Quality, Suppliers & Test as required
  • Assisting APM site General Managers in preparing offer letters for Capital Asset Replacement Program (CARP) at necessary for system enhancements and upgrades commercially governed by O&M Contract Terms & Conditions

 

To be successful you will bring your strong knowledge and capability across a range of vehicle systems as well as excellent familiarity with relevant industry standards and have a proven capability in the developing and justifying technical solutions, producing modification documentation as required. Proven business acumen and commercial experience a plus. You will need to be versatile, very autonomous, and comfortable working in unclear and ill-defined environments. Ultimately, you will be delivering internal client/customer satisfaction, enabling our teams to continue to grow the business through cost mitigation and new offerings.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience with Automated People Movers, Rail or similar industry
  • Ability to Travel 50% or more, with some requests being short notice

 

Education

  • Bachelors Degree is required
  • Equivalent Combination of education and experience may be considered
