Could you be the full-time onsite Test Technician in Perth, WA, AU we’re looking for?  

Your future role: 

Alstom has been awarded the PTA Australia’s $1.6 billion Railcar Program.  As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for Metronet projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU (diesel multiple unit)  railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury.  Reporting to the Validation Manager, this is an 18 month fixed term contract within the Validation Team.

We’ll look to you for:

• Preparation and validating train setups, ensuring tests conditions and environment are ready on time (loads, life on board, instrumentation)
• Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment in time for testing, 
• Leadership in preparing and executing test activities at train level
• Development and validation of test tools and measuring equipment
• Implementation of EHS rules, including LockOut TagOut procedures
• Real-time analysis of test results and decision-making on test validity
• Writing comprehensive static and dynamic test reports
• Ensuring test readiness through configuration validation and prerequisite check.

• A Grade Electrical Licence
• Experience or understanding of rail systems, including testing or validation of rolling stock and its subsystems
• Familiarity with EHS rules and LockOut-TagOut procedures
• Experience with diesel engine will be a plus.
