System Design Engineer - Interlocking (IXL)

As IXL System designer, take part in specific needs identified throughout the project lifecycle from start-finish. Identify and analyse the customer and product requirements to define and design standardized Interlocking (IXL) architecture and the related configurations. Reporting to Project Design Manager IXL Join us on a permanent basis as a System Design Engineer - Interlocking (IXL) based out of Perth, Australia with Global Mobility offered for suitable applicants. 

Key Responsibilities

• Capture all the internal and external interfaces of the IXL system
• Identify the trackside equipment to be controlled and detected with the application conditions to the trackside engineering
• Identify the migration needs to be satisfied by the IXL solution 
• Evaluate the space constraints for the installation of the pre-fitted configurations of the IXL solution

Project Requirements

• Define, among the available Alstom range of products or their evolutions, the components of the IXL Architecture composed by Interlocking Computer, object controllers etc.
• Lead the design of the pre-fitted solution of Interlocking power supply needs and interfaces towards other subsystems/equipment for signalling;
• Organize and lead the activities for the production of an exhaustive documental set to permit the correct assembly and off-site testing (FAT) of the pre-fitted solutions;
• Define the IXL equipment breakdown of the pre-fitted solution o ensure the application and adherence to the reference processes applicable to the solution design, methods & tools, requesting deviations whenever appropriate;

Qualifications & Skills

• Engineering Qualification: Computers, Software, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Automation
• Demonstrated time in Railway Signaling System.
• Experience in CBTC Technology, Major Brownfield Signalling Projects accompanied with computer based interlocking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Defect analysis and able to propose a corrective solution
• Ability to work transversally with Engineering teams
