About the role:
Alstom has an opportunity for a Site Managing Director based at the Bellevue, WA site for the Metronet project. Reporting to the Project Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall activities and performance of the Regional Centre and project site operations. This role involves driving both financial and operational success, ensuring that the site’s operations align with Alstom’s strategic goals and global vision. As a strategic leader, you will guide the site toward profitable growth, ensuring that all activities support the company’s short- and long-term objectives. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimise processes, manage risks, and continuously improve performance, all while fostering a high-performance culture across the region.
We’ll look to you for:
- Implementing company policies and developing long-term plans to ensure the site’s operations align with Alstom’s global objectives.
- Overseeing financial performance and ensuring that sales, orders, profit, and cash flow targets are consistently met.
- Managing and developing a high-performing team by providing guidance, training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Representing Alstom at the local level, building strong relationships with clients, business development teams, and key stakeholders.
- Driving operational excellence by ensuring projects meet quality, cost, and delivery targets, while optimising resources and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Leading the development and execution of safety and crisis management plans to safeguard employees, assets, and data.
- Ensuring compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements, while driving the implementation of transformation initiatives for ongoing operational improvement.
All about you:
- A degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in senior management roles, particularly in industrialization within rail rolling stock manufacturing or adjacent industries such as aerospace, defence, or aviation, with a strong emphasis on P&L management and driving profitability.
- Extensive operational experience overseeing large-scale operations, ensuring financial, quality, and project performance targets are met.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building, leading, and motivating high-performance teams across multiple functions.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalise on business opportunities while mitigating risks for sustainable, long-term growth.
- Deep understanding of business operations, including risk management, financial performance, and optimising resource allocation.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
