Purpose of the Role:

The Signalling Test Assistant will be responsible under the direction and supervision of the identified lead tester in the team for assisting the testing of signalling equipments, components and systems in accordance with the test plans, specifications and instructions and take responsibility for performing Low Voltage (None ELV) electrical circuit changes required under AS3000 in accordance with the approved design and electrical standards.

 

This will be a FIFO role. The person will be working at Port Headland site.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

1. Signalling

  • Provide assistance and support to the test team lead following instructions, procedures and guidance in the testing and commissioning of signalling equipment and systems.

 

2. Electrical

  • Under the direction of the test team lead, and in accordance with approved design, perform electrical modifications and circuit changes to the new system completing all appropriate electrical compliance testing and completing all necessary documentation and records.

 

3. Competency & Authority to Work

  • Ensure that all works performed in the role are within the limits of authority based on competency assessments and issued authority to works.
  • Ensure that all competencies and certifications to perform the duties are maintained and/or consistently and proactively work towards obtaining formal competency recognition and certification.

 

4. Safety

  • Ensure that all safe systems of work, procedures and processes are fully understood and complied with at all times, contributing and supporting to safety discussions and inputs and take personal responsibility for safety at all times.  

 

Key Requirements:

  • A-Grade Electrical Licence (Mandatory)
  • 1.3.150 Test Assistant (Ideal)

 

Please note that due to current public health orders and contractual requirements with our customers, an inherent requirement of this role requires the successful applicant to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and to maintain their vaccination status in respect of COVID-19, in the event that further COVID-19 vaccinations are required.
