Your future role

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Migration Technical Expert/Manager to join our team responsible for the delivery of the High Capacity Signalling (HCS) project in Perth, Western Australia. This transformational project will deliver a new Automatic Train Control (ATC) system across the Perth metro network, and is the world’s largest signalling project by route length. Based in our Perth CBD office and reporting to the Project Technical Manager, you will be responsible for deployment activities for the project and working closely between the Technical Manager, Alstom HQ, the Project Team and Customer.

Purpose of The Role:

In the frame of deployment activities for Signaling Projects, the Migration Technical Expert/Manager shall be the referent for any topic relation to Migration Strategy and Deployment steps.

Network & Links

Project Migration Technical Expert/Manager is part of the engineering team and works closely with :

  • Engineering Teams across different units
  • Other discipline Teams (Project Management, Installation, Safety etc.)
  • Platform Solution team in France
  • Customer representatives

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare Migration Plan,  Staging plan,  concept & Typical design, process/guidelines associated to Migration.
  • Coordination with Customer to explain the technical solution- Migration (presentations/discussions), to conduct design reviews & to resolve the technical issues.
  • Specify and implement independently the technical solution -Define the global Migration solution/architecture, requirements/ functionality at project level.
  • Identifying Project requirements, define the GAP (if raised from Migration strategy) & define solution to comply technical requirement for deployment.
  • Provide Technical expertise and review coordinated design with various external system contractors.
  • Coordinate with all sub system / discipline within Alliance engineering team to help defining the Migration Detailed solution/ process etc.
  • Along with V&V and T&C,  align the best Migration strategy to support the Site activities in order to reduce the impact/risk on the existing operation.

EDUCATION:

Engineering Graduate/ Diploma in Electronics, Electrical or Industrial Control systems

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Rigorous, autonomous, good analytic and synthesis skills.
  • Good technical coordination (Meetings, CCB, Reviews etc.).
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • English: written and verbal.

 Technical Competency & Experience:

  • Technical knowledge in railway signaling (Priority can be given to the individuals with experience in the CBTC System design).
  • Experience in brownfield/Migration Signalling Projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian railway signaling principles is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders of project and other colleagues
  • Ability to perform multitasking on need basis
