Alstom has been awarded the PTA Australia’s $1.6 billion Railcar Program.  As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains.  We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury.

As a Material Planner, you are a member of the dynamic Supply Chain team. You will spend your time advising on executing material planning and inventory strategies in coordination with others Supply chain team. In addition you will be looking for ongoing improvements of the performance in term of material availability and inventory management.

This position will be initially located in the Perth CBD and relocating to the Bellevue manufacturing facility early 2021.

What are my responsibilities?

• Production planning in GSI (ERP program) in line with Project Planning – Master Production Schedule and define planning tactics to support project replenishment.
• Contribute to the Industrial Planning Methods & Tools evolution.
• Material demand in ERP system (GSI) based on production planning, maintenance planning, repairs planning, sales orders or statistical methods.
• Leadership and coordination of missing parts anticipation process and missing parts root cause analysis (Anticipate potential delays, propose actions plan at least to recover them, and animate the ones chosen).
• Planning and inventory strategy deployment based on parts typology, demand input, volume, price and other potential characteristics.
• Material master data creation and maintenance (Material requirement planning type, Material requirement planning controller, make/buy, planning strategy, Material requirement planning parameters)
• Key Performance Indicators monitoring and reporting and continuous improvement activity for planning

What can I bring to the team?

• Knowledge of Rolling Stock parts
• Inventory Control and planning experience
• SAP experience required however GSI experience will be beneficial
• Good analytical skills / English / Multicultural environment
• Graduation in Engineering / Industrial / Business Administration / Supply Chain (preferred / not essential)
