Material Planner

As our METRONET project progresses through the design, manufacture and maintenance of 246 new railcars for the Public Transport Authority's (PTA) $1.6 billion Railcar Program, we are looking to welcome a Material Planner to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Reporting to the Material Planning Lead, you will be responsible for executing material planning and inventory strategies in coordination with Industrialisation and Operations teams. Your focus will be on ensuring material availability to support project milestones while maintaining accurate planning data and proactively identifying potential risks within the supply chain.

We’ll look to you to:

• Execute material planning and inventory management activities to support project and operational requirements.
• Manage the purchase requisition flow through to material planning documentation and execution.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of material planning master data within the ERP system.
• Collaborate closely with Industrialisation, Procurement, Operations and Logistics teams to ensure material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and material forecasts to support production schedules.
• Identify, assess and escalate material shortages, risks and supply chain constraints.
• Anticipate priorities and implement mitigation actions to minimise project impacts.
• Maintain planning parameters, lead times and inventory strategies to optimise stock levels.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across material planning and supply chain processes.
• Support reporting and performance analysis related to inventory and material availability.

• Degree in Supply Chain/Engineering or Relevant Field.
• A confident user of SAP
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills 
• Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
• Understanding of material requirement planning and inventory control systems
• Strong communication, interpersonal and liaison skills
