We have  an exciting opportunity  available for a Material Planner  to join our team responsible for the delivery of the High Capacity Signalling (HCS) project in Perth, Western Australia.  You will play a key role in helping keep Perths rail network safe and reliable!

 

Alstom are seeking a detail-oriented Material Planner to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring material availability, supplier performance, and production continuity by driving effective planning and supplier coordination. This is a fast-paced position suited to someone who thrives on data, supplier engagement, and problem-solving within a complex operational environment.

 

We'll look to you for:

 

  • Manage end-to-end material planning processes, including purchase requisitions, planning documentation, and ERP data accuracy
  • Coordinate with suppliers to communicate requirements, track confirmations, and maintain delivery schedules
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks (shortages, delays, backlogs) through MRP analysis and recovery planning
  • Monitor supplier performance, track KPIs, and drive improvement initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Resolve supply and receiving issues (missing parts, damages, discrepancies) while ensuring compliance with company standards and processes.

  • The ability to thrive within a face-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Effective problem solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and implement quick solutions.
  • IT savvy with experience using SAP or similar ERP.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, managing parts/components.
  • A sound understanding of supply chain, warehousing and materials management.
