Join us on a permanent basis out of the head office in Perth CBD.   Primarily you will manage the IT needs and support of the Perth High-Capacity Signalling (HCS) project. The HCS Project is an Alliance between Alstom, DTi and the Perth Transit Authority (PTA). Act as an IS&T Co Ordinator for Alstom, DTi and PTA at our new city site under the DTi network. 

Alstom has many modern cloud-based applications (eg. ERP, Engineering, Administration, HR, Payroll etc) with various end user devices (eg. workstations, PCs, tablets, smartphones etc). In Alstom IS&T, the technical work (setting up PCs, switches, servers) is performed by outsourced partners. In this role, while not performing the detailed technical work, the person needs to have IT knowledge to assist in solving problems and suggest technology or process improvements.

 

Your future role

  • Manage the IT infrastructure needs and support of the Perth HCS Project
    • Coordinate business IT issues to ensure these are addressed in a timely manner by the Alstom IT and DTi Support Teams per SLAs and per business needs
    • Monitor actions assigned to Alstom and DTi IT Support Teams and escalate as needed
    • Manage in deployment (including testing) of ERP application hardware
  • Manage the IT application needs and support of the Perth HCS Project
    • With the assistance of other business stakeholders, manage the key IT systems (eg. finance and project management)  
    • Ensure all applications are supported and meet SLAs
  • Support IS&T Local Operations
    • Support IS&T Local Operations Lead and Alstom IS&T partners as needed on operational activities (including WAN, LAN, WiFi, LDRs, etc)
    • Organize troubleshooting between technical teams and business
    • Ensure IS&T on-boarding and de-boarding processes are met
    • Asset management process (including PCs, printers, mobile phones, 5G routers)

  • IT or Engineering Degree or advanced experience
  • System Knowledge: Microsoft O365, ERP, Finance, Project Management systems, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Dynamics
  • Technical knowledge of PCs and operating systems (Windows), tablets (IOS and Androids) and Smartphones (IOS and Androids)
  • Technical knowledge of servers, networking equipment (switches and routers), printers, etc
  • Ability to diagnose issues in business applications and problem solve
