Your future role

 

Take on a new challenge and apply your Finance management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to our to our Head of Finance and be a key business partner for our High Capacity Signalling (HCS) Project.

You'll play a critical role in supporting Project leadership team to provide strategic and operational finance support. This role is based in the Perth CBD office and will support a major project, critical to Alstom ANZ.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Monitoring compliance with all governance and reporting rules & regulations in project.
  • Corroborating the permanent compliance of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Challenging financial information throughout project process and work package reviews (consistent “Early Warning” for financial impacts of projects operational performances and risk mitigation).
  • Monthly reporting of project actual and forecast (vs Budget) spend to support Work Package Owners and the Project Manager in the financial control and forecasting of their budgets. 
  • Ensure all actual cost will pass the Audit test to have full cost reimbursement (in line with contractual requirements). Reconciling project data and General Ledger on regular (at least monthly) basis.
  • Ensure accuracy of the month end financials to reflect the correct financial position of the project. Supporting the finance teams in the monthly closing process and reporting Project financials in a suitable manner.
  • Ensuring billing process (external or internal) is made on a timely manner in line with the Alliance model.
  • Understanding the contractual terms and conditions and advising about all financial matters in contract, focusing on guiding on competitiveness improvement.
  • Making sure monthly timesheet are entered in GSI, if not necessary accrual done.
  • Cash reporting within Alstom system like Polaris and necessary reconciliation.
  • Analysing under/over recovery.
  • Generate/Set up Power BI system for claim process to have easy set up for month of month including topics like Travel cost reimbursement, recruitement and any other such costs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to build effective relationships.
  • Significant experience in a similar role, providing financial analysis/support.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and MS Office experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance/Business with good understanding of long term contracts.
  • Willingness to learn and the desire to develop cross functional relationship with functions outside Finance.
  • Ability to work under time pressure if required in certain phases of the project.
  • Experience with SAP will be highly regarded. 
  • Experience in Power BI set up will be considered as highly advantage in this role.
