Alstom has been awarded the PTA Australia's $1.6 billion Railcar Program. As part of the project we will design, manufacture and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury. 

 

Our small yet mighty testing team at Alstom Bellevue, are delighted to release several full-time Electrical Tester positions to the market. As a result of our recently awarded Railcar Program, we have an exciting future ahead and these roles will be pivotal to our success. 

With a passionate and committed manager, we are inviting applications from individuals with some experience as an Electrical Trade Assistant but more so, an eagerness to learn and develop in this field and contribute to a close-knit team environment. If you have experience in the field already and hold a higher level electrical related qualification (including an A grade licence), you are also welcome to apply.

 

These positions are full time, fixed term for 2 years. (Where possible, we endeavour to create further opportunities within the business to support continued employment and will be an ongoing discussion during your employment should you be successful).

 

The primary functions of this role includes; 

  • carrying carry out testing during the running of commercial tracks
  • performing troubleshooting to identify root causes of electrical faults and implemented corrective actions.
  • proposing improvements to the testing process and testing equipment.
  • supporting Validation team during train type test in the Assembly Workshop.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience required include: 

  • a solutions-oriented attitude, willingness to learn and work closely with and chip in to help (where needed), your team mates
  • experience in electrical testing or similar (electrical tagging, troubleshooting electrical schemes or maintenance) 
  • a relevant electrical trade qualification is desirable
  • ability to read and follow detailed work instructions
  • analytical, adaptable and flexible – the problems, environment, requirements and shifts are often changing so we are looking for people who embrace this and seek out solutions
