What is the Alstom Aboriginal Pre-Employment Program

 

This is an exciting opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to gain a partial qualification and real work experience in the rail manufacturing industry.

 

This program consists of two skill sets allowing you to get an introduction to Electrical and Mechanical topics.

 

Alstom’s Pre-employment Program will run in Term 4 for 10 weeks and have fifteen participants with the opportunity to become a full time apprentice at the end of the program.

 

What you’ll be doing for this 10 week paid program:

  • Go to NM TAFE in Midland – Mon/Tues/Wed 8:00am to 3:45pm
  • Learn core units of Electrical & Mechanical Trade certificate
  • Be supported by Alstom & Koolark Team to keep you on track with your studies
  • Come & learn alongside qualified fitters at our Production facility, every other Thursday 7am to 10am
  • Work in a team environment and gain real life experiences

Who are we looking for?

  • Be enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Be ready to attend Midland Tafe and our Bellevue site
  • Interested in a career in building trains with Alstom
  • Looking for a local career with long term opportunities
  • Able to pass Drug and Alcohol test
