Overview: 

The Pre Sales Engineer works with clients in a fast-paced technology environment and has a deep understanding of IP networks, wireless technologies including WiFi and cellular networks (5G, LTE, HSPA+, WCDMA, GSM), and Linux platforms. The Pre Sales Engineer is a technical evangelist for Nomad’s proprietary systems and also has in-depth knowledge of third-party hardware within Nomad’s portfolio.

 

This is a hybrid role based in our Paris office in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine 3 days per week and the rest from home. 

 

Essential Duties: 

    • Develop project program/plan for all stages and identify key resources
    • Provide content and detailed written descriptions to support the deployment of the solution, promoting rail engineering capabilities and aligning to best practice and rail approvals and standards
    • Identify all delivery documentation and training requirements
    • Respond to typical bid clause by clause documents for delivery related requirements
    • Produce supporting project management proposal and collateral material ensuring the content capturing plan supports strategy to win
    • Capture all delivery related cost drivers to support the project deliverables within required timelines while meeting quality and profit targets
    • Escalate and seek approval as per internal policies, processes and guidelines
    • Proactive contact with bid managers and directors to ensure delivery related issues and opportunities are identified in a timely manner at bid stage, diffusing when necessary, escalating as appropriate
    • Identify, assess and mitigate delivery related risks at bid stage
    • Liaise with procurement to co-ordinate lead times with third party suppliers
    • Support bid sign offs and bid presentations to potential customers
    • Support Handovers from Sales to Delivery

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years of demonstrable industry experience in TCP/IP networking and Linux system administration
  • Demonstrable ability to produce system architectures and the confidence to clearly explain data flow and application interaction.
  • Exceptional technical and business oral and written communication skills demonstrated through significant experience in documentation preparation and presentations to C level executives.
  • Demonstrable knowledge on wireless technologies specifically WiFi (standards and device configuration) and cellular (5G, LTE, WiMAX, WCDMA, GPRS, EDGE and HSPA standards and lifecycles).
  • Ability to quickly analyse data and generate reports for internal and client consumption.
  • Ability to project manage and deliver multiple small scale (demonstrations/proof of concept) projects within strict timeframes.
  • Self-motivated, innovative and constantly looking for ways to improve both product and processes.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in the rail vehicle environment with an appreciation of rolling stock regulations. In particular, experience in defining and specifying systems to be installed onto rail vehicles.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
  • Experience working in a project based environment.
  • Valid passport.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/ Communication/ Electrical or Computer Science /Network Security or equivalent discipline.
  • Desirable: Fluent in English and French. German would be an advantage.
