Key accountabilities:
- Power supply design (including deliverables listed in the Documentation Master List (DML), Bill Of Material (BOM) and Failed Axle Testing (FAT) procedures) based on dimensioning specifications and/or calculations
- Definition / calculation of power needs by level and type of voltages
- Calculation of cable sizes according to the electrical regulations (applicable in the country of the projects)
- Specification of the external performances with the aim of optimizing the global solution of the system, offering competitive advantages
- Identification of the principal interfaces that has to be controlled during the realization of a contract, consistency management
- Industrial implementation
- Analysis of the impacts/gaps of specific local standards
- To check and to give the first approval about the Power Supply T&C’s equipment making sure that the installed equipment are tested in conformity with the test plan, standards and procedures, in compliance with the contractual obligations, the QA/QC system and the Time Schedule in place and forecasted cost
- To check the Testing & Commissioning program and discuss with his manager and subcontractors about the feasibility and the best way to execute
- To check all the instruments that the subcontractors or Alstom Team will use, if they are in good conditions and safety for the test
- Follow-up the Site Quality Plan defined at site on testing activity to control and master the Coordination of the teams, the Testing Process and guarantees the contractual requirements (checking and controls)
- To ensure that the subcontractors equipment used to execute the tests is conforming to the local legislation.
- To ensure the subcontractors present and maintain on site the validity of the certificates (checking reports, gauging) of the equipment, instruments and tools used for the tests
- Report to the T&C Power Supply Manager and/or the Project Manager of all major events and decisions, which can have a major impact on the site activity, and/or the general progress of the project. Propose the relevant measures of conservation
- Make sure that the subcontractor’s team members have the required abilities
- Check that the follow-up of the subcontractor’s measuring equipment, used during the tests, is made according to the quality clauses of the contract. To Check the compliance and certificates of the testing equipment
- Return of Experience and capitalization
- Processes deployment
- Contractors’ selection and validation of the contractor deliverables (including suppliers technical offers)
- Power Supply budget management (estimation and commitment in tender phase, expenses monitoring in project phase)
- Sustaining the Power Supply Reference Library
Requirements:
- Diploma in Advanced Technician or Diploma of Higher Education, up to Engineer in Electrical domain
- Experience of principal architectures and components (including UPS and battery) and their use
- Able to read and understand the electrical drawings (eg wirings) and associated mechanical drawings (eg Power supply cubicles)
- Read and comprehension electrical schematic diagrams checking the functionality and if necessary propose small modifications or change within Engineer Team
- Special knowledge about electrical instruments of measurement as megohmmeter, oscillograph, HV tester, ground tester, protection relays tester/software and contacts resistance tester
- Read and comprehension all the electrical standards used in electrical system and subsystem for Subways
- Desirable knowledge of the traction and auxiliary energy distribution system, in terms of installation, testing and electrical protections setting
- Desirable knowledge of electrical HV network and substations, in terms of installation, testing and electrical protections setting
- Desirable knowledge of electrical protections and monitoring systems
- Desirable knowledge of the other activities, upstream to electrical power system distribution installation such as civil works and electromechanical industrial equipment
- DesirableKnowledge of downstream activities as railway traffic, urban traffic regulation, and passenger stations utilities
- Good relationship with his subcontractors or Alstom Team
- English writing and speaking
- Capacity to find “just enough” solutions
- Able to train others
- Shares experience with others in his / her field of expertise, using Knowledge Management methodology and tool when available
- Leadership, initiative and decision minded
